Lower Lid Ectropion Repair to Tighten Severely Droopy Lower Eyelids

This gentleman was referred to Thomas Lamperti, MD to fix his severely drooping lower eyelids which had become very loose over the years and were now everted outward. This condition is called ectropion and was leading to chronic eye irritation and dryness in this patient's case. Dr. Lamperti performed a lower lid tightening procedure called lateral tarsal strip in which the lower lid tendon was shortened and tightened to elevate and reposition the lower eyelids. In the 4 month after photo you can see how the patient's lower eyelids now sit much more normally against his eyeball providing him with better eye moisturization and protection.
