Stahl Ear Reconstruction Otoplasty Before and After

This adult male otoplasty patient by the prominent ridge that he had developed along the upper part of his right ear. Thomas Lamperti, MD diagnosed a Stahl ear deformity which consists of an extra ridge of cartilage along the upper pole of the ear. In this patient's case the ridge extended up toward his helical rim. To repair the abnormally formed ear Dr. Lamperti made a hidden incision within the helical sulcus which allowed him to elevate the skin overlying the misshapen cartilage. Dr. Lamperti was then able to sculpt and remove the abnormal ridge of cartilage creating a flat contour. In the 2 month after photo you can see how the ear has a much more normal appearance and the incision is barely visible.
